I think it’s time for me to stop writing about subjects that I’m not comfortable sharing. I keep going back to this process, trying to find a language to express my thoughts and feelings about some very personal matters, but in the end, it all just makes me feel exposed and then overly concerned about who’s paying attention and why.

My attempt was to do something that would be something other than the kind of grotesque oversharing we see now on social media, but given the way it all makes me feel, I now wonder if there’s any real difference.

So, for now at least, this site is going to focus on the ongoing “Drive My Car” project, which I’m quite comfortable with and do not believe has become an outlet for indirectly writing about my personal life. I doubt that anyone is really going to miss the Stendhal pieces, and I’ll keep them around in my draft folder just in case I find some positive use for them, but for now, I consider it an abandoned project.
